- Environmental problems of the animal world.
Every year the scale of animal extinction becomes larger and more serious, and the geography of disasters continues to expand throughout the world. Compared to the previous century, the rate of their disappearance has increased almost 1000 times, which leads to irreversible losses in the form of every fourth species in mammals, every third in amphibians and every eighth in birds.
There are increasing reports of thousands of dead fish and other marine animals washing up on beaches near major cities. Birds are rapidly dying from air pollution, and bees are forever leaving the places in which they lived and pollinating plants for centuries.

- Infographic: how the number of endangered animal species is growing. The list of endangered species has almost doubled since 2007.
Although humanity has shown some success in saving animals from extinction, the number of endangered species is steadily increasing every year. This is clearly evidenced by the infographic of the Statista service, prepared on the basis of data from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
If in 2007 7851 animal species were classified as endangered, then in 2020 the number of endangered species has almost doubled and amounted to 15,403 species. Compared to 2019 (14,234 species), this figure increased by 8.2%. At the same time, the number of endangered mammal species has increased by 21% over 13 years, insects - by 201%, mollusks - by 135%, fish - by 167%, and reptiles - by 245%.
