If possible try to find dissertations or theses from former students of your specific degree program. This will give you a strong indication  of your university's expectations and the norms in terms of the methodology  chapter and all other chapters. Lastly, remember the golden rule of the methodology chapter, justify every choice. Make sure that you explain clearly the way for every what and reference credible methodology textbooks or academic sources to back up your justifications.
